Long Weekend

Due to Great Grandma's fractured hip, I had a four day weekend and got my fill of the boys. I have found that being home with kids basically means you wipe things all day long. Tables, counters, noses, butts, etc. Also, I can't believe how much time I spent in public bathrooms. The boys move so slow and they have no qualms about hanging out in bathrooms. We took one of the vans in for an oil change and Henry had to go pee. Then literally 3 minutes later he had to go poop. Then Cole had to go pee. Then we ate at George Webb's and they both had to use the bathroom. Ridiculous.

Otherwise, we had some busy days, mostly not so fun errands, but we did go to the Lego store on Thursday. Man, that place is expensive. I am stunned every time I go in there.

I took the boys to their T-ball lessons. Henry was the worse kid in his class. He was constantly misbehaving and laying his hands on the other kids. He wouldn't stand in line and at times just wasn't participating. I had to go talk to him a bunch of times. Coach Ben also had to ask him to stand in line and keep his hands to himself. I was not happy. Plus, T-ball is super boring. It is very hard to sit through. This was the most exciting part of T-ball (and it's pretty boring). Cole is supposed to be doing this as fast as he can. There is not much sign of hustle.

Sunday night, Cole got an ear infection. I ended up taking him to the ER because it was 12:30 am and we couldn't find a 24 hour Urgent Care. We didn't get home until about 2:00 a.m. We now think maybe he could have fallen asleep once the Tylenol kicked in, but he was crying and begging to go to the doctor because his ear hurt so bad. So I guess either way, sleep was not in our future.

Henry was pretty surprised to see these pictures the next morning. He couldn't believe he didn't know that Cole left their room for a large portion of the night and went out!

Snow Bunnies

Watch out skiers, the Fuchs family hit the slopes at Little Switzerland, and were about the best looking snow bunnies you've ever seen. Actually, I haven't skied since 2005 so I was a little afraid, even starting on the beginner area. I felt like I should have been wearing jeans. It was likely the last weekend the hill will be open this season and it couldn't have been a better day. The snow was a little sloppy but the boys didn't mind. Most importantly, no one complained of cold.

We'll start with Henry, the short story. He went down the hill once with Kristin and quit. The end.

Cole, on the other hand, loved it. He did great. It did not take him long to start going down the hill all by himself. By the end, he could even go solo on the rope pull. Cole kept saying, "We skied all the way to dinner!" It was an early dinner but we did eat there. Poor Kristin had to entertain Henry all day inside. Ski chalet snacks are not cheap and Henry is a hard one to fill up.

I remembered our new camera, and still got a shit pic.

Pizza! Pizza!

I took Henry down a couple times in my arms, which he seemed to like more than having to ski himself (that's us in the middle). I don't think the guy watching the hill was a big fan though, especially since we had turned in his helmet hours prior.

Kristin getting fancy with her new iPhone.

I also found these pics on Kristin's phone. I like the athletics in rain boots.

And now the Sports Show

Last weekend was the auto show. This weekend, Sports Show. Sadly Henry has had a wicked cough, so we ended up cutting the Sports Show a little short, but the boys had fun. We got to park on the race track at State Fair, which was cool. They got to fish for trout, shoot paintball guns and look at some turtles and fish.

I am sad to report that Gregg and I did not win the cornhole tourney we entered at Albanese's. It was a lot of fun though. I'm hoping they do it again soon.

I am even sadder to report that Great Grandma took a fall at Albanese's and fractured her hip. Sounds painful. And, not that it matters much, but we are short a babysitter.

On the parenting front, I have discovered hanging out with kids is like being the only sober person at a party. Cole and Henry just go crazy. They are always wrestling and they laugh at everything. Super annoying

Auto Show

I finally remembered to take some pics with the new camera. Hopefully it's noticeable. First are some Lego building pictures. The boys are still liking the table and play with Legos pretty often. On Saturday the boys and I went to the Auto Show. After a rough start with a guy bugging me and then telling me to be nice and that there are kids around, we got further in the show and had some fun. Cole got to sit in a race car. They both got to drive little cars. Cole saw two Jaguars (his favorite kind of car) and Henry saw two super cars (his favorite). One being a Ford GT (my favorite).

I think this was really Henry's favorite. A bright red Mercedes Sprinter with an extended roof.

The boys were able to find the pistons all by themselves while looking at this engine. Their machine and car books must be working.

After putting the boys in bed, I caught them looking at their Jeep brochures they got from the Auto Show with their headlamps. (it was actually dark in their room when I took this pic but the flash lit the place up)

We built an old west style fort over the weekend too. Why not.

First Cole was using all kinds of colors. Then I found out he was just trying to paint it brown like in the picture. I pointed out that he could just use brown paint instead of mixing (and wasting) all of Mom's paints to make it brown.

Can #2.
