Catching up

It's been awhile since our last post, so I can promise a lot of pictures. I can't, however, promise that you will find any of our activities interesting.

Let's start with Henry's Apple Holler field trip. I went along on this one. I started with a group of six kids and ended up getting ditched pretty quickly by most of them until it was just Henry and Beau. Thanks for sticking it out with me Beau. Having six kids to keep an eye on is probably a bit much for me anyway, so it's all for the best.

Henry got sick towards the end of the field trip. He rode home with a pillow case over his head and took a nap. Luckily no barf. I was scared though.

Awhile back we started a reward system for the boys. Basically, we give them checks for good behavior. Once they were half way through (50 checks) they each got a Mixel. Once they got all 100 checks we took them to Lego Fest. Jokes on them though, we had already bought the tickets and would have taken them anyway.

Filling in their last check boxes.

Opening up the surprise tickets to Lego Fest, plus a little spending cash.

Lego Fest. This was one of the better things we've taken the kids to and was worth the money.

I haven't seen this move since hanging out with Tyler D in college

Hen came pretty close to ripping off this guy's hand

Cole is now a Tiger Scout. He recently earned his Bobcat Badge...not that I really know why or what that is, but hey, congrats Cole. Nice work. He also sold some wreaths and popcorn.

During a rando Target trip, we decided to buy a couple air mattresses and a tent.

Finally, some big news - Henry lost his first tooth. This thing was hanging on by a thread for days. So happy it is finally out.

Tiger Scout work. Cole is almost done with the Backyard Jungle activities. He just has to plant a tree somewhere. It sucks Henry is too young because he did all these activities with us and he'll just have to do them again if he joins next year.

Thinking hard.

Cole and his Den did a skit at the Pack 156 bonfire.

Henry's Fall Class Party. He was so excited for this party he had trouble sleeping the night before. The party lasted 30 minutes...probably not anything to lose sleep over.

Henry has been overly generous lately. Before school he makes pictures for his friends, usually Sullie and Zack. He even tried to take a quarter to give Sullie, but I drew the line at giving some other kid his money. He took a Twizzlers instead. The other night, Henry tried to give me his $5 that he got from the Tooth-fairy. It's nice, but I hope he doesn't become some weird overly nice, annoying kid.

Although he is sweet, I think Henry also has a lying problem. The latest was when I asked him who drew on the table. He said it wasn't him. I pointed out that it happened where he sits. Nope, he insisted it wasn't him, so I pointed out that his name is literally written on the table. Nope, not him. I just couldn't believe he kept denying it. This turned into about a 30 minute conversation.

The boys are in Spanish class now. So is Grandpa Gregg (not the same class though). Sorry, no Spanish class pics.

And finally, school pics:

Somebody is looking a little small.

HamFuc 2016

We had the third HamFuc after an 8 year hiatus. All the HamFuc staples were included; a pig, beer, t-shirts and fun. I suppose the weather could have been worse, but not by much. With that said, I thought it was a good time. I know I had fun. And the boys said they wanted to do it again next year. I'm not sure if Kristin is fully sold, but we likely won't even let her vote on the matter, so who cares.

Oink oink.

Sadly the Badgers lost to Michigan.

The boys did not help much with the setup, but they did find a big pile of worms.

The little HamFuc-ers!

Other news;

Haley, our former nanny, got married...

Did not take Henry long to ruin his outfit.

And...

Henry is in there somewhere. And way too high for Kristin's liking.

This needs to be setup permanently.

Recent school pics...

Cole and his 3rd grade buddy.

I went to Apple Holler with Hen's class. I started with a group of 6. By the end it was just me, Henry and Beau (on the right). I'm not sure why everyone else ditched me.
