Casted Henry

Yesterday we experienced our second worst kid injury. Cole's head wound is still, and hopefully will be forever, the worst injury we will experience but Henry has had a doozy. But first some fun pics from our lives lately.

Cole taught himself to climb this tree in our front yard.

I think we need a second bathroom.

He was actually legitimately helpful, we got my work room pretty organized

I recently took the boys to the Pewaukee Beach Party to meet some friends. The boys had a blast, but it was definitely a mistake to let them play in the water and sand. I was not really prepared for the cleanup (no towels, not enough dry clothes, etc.).

Well, I guess we all knew something like this would happen soon enough. Yesterday Grammie Debbie (Normal Grandma) took the boys to the park and Henry decided to jump down from the top of the playground equipment (we estimate about 6 feet tall) and ended up fracturing his heel. I blame the shoes. The boys are always wearing their TOMS, so they have absolutely no cushion or support. I guess, I will also have to teach the boys the ninja roll...it's the safest way to land.

There are many bad parts about Henry's heel fracture, besides just Henry being hurt. First off, he can't walk for a week. That means we, actually primarily Kristin, will have to lug him around for an entire week. He already weighs a lot and may be pushing 40 lbs with his cast. Obviously this will be horrible. Second, this has already cost $150 for the emergency room visit. After a week, he will have to go to the doctor again for another X-ray and will probably get another cast (i.e. more money). So that sucks. The third suckball of this situation is the impact to our upcoming plans. His upcoming zoo trip will surely not be as much fun. I was hoping to go on the pontoon boat this weekend, but obviously no swimming for Hen now. And the fourth and worst part, last night Kristin and I maybe slept for two hours. Hopefully he will sleep okay tonight, but last night he was squirming and crying all night and trying to claw off his cast. It was awful.

The good part is that we have been meaning to get a lock on Henry's door because the other day he woke up, went to the kitchen and helped himself to two morning suckers. Not an ideal breakfast, but now that he can't walk, that problem has been solved. Although after a day of immobility he is bringing back the crawl and he is pretty quick.

Some brotherly support

Father's Day 2014

Father's Days are apparently already not a big deal. Kristin and the boys got me nothing, except for a taste of my own medicine, I guess (as I never get Kristin anything for Mother's Day). We did have a fun day though. We went to the Brewer's game, Henry's first, and then to my parents house to hang out with the family. To be honest, I think I only got to watch about 3 innings (money well spent). Luckily, though, I missed out on watching the Brewers get lit up at the end. Cole had a great time hanging out with Columbus Cousins, Lisa and Walt and nonColumbus cousin Ellie too.

Henry got a new Brewers outfit for the game. Cole refused to wear his Brewers shirt. I'm trying not to hold it against it him.

Shocked by the awesome-ness of a birthday present

Cousin Ellie's new puppy, Monster. Henry loves little things so we thought he might try to shove her into his treasure box or pocket

Henry is 3!

Henry turned 3 on Tuesday. He had a good start to his day with the Fuchs' traditional morning balloon bombardment. He also got doughnuts and watermelon for breakfast (two of his favorites). Following the fun morning he had a not-so-fun doctor's appointment. Everything checked out. He is in the 40th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight. I don't know why he seems so heavy, but he does.

Later he celebrated at the park with his 2 best girls, Charlotte and Zoey, a picnic lunch and more donuts! After nap his Grammie picked him up for a birthday adventure to Toys R Us and then we all met at Red Robin for dinner. It was quite a day! We will finish up his celebration this weekend with a party at my parent's house with all his cousins.

We also went to his first Brewers game to celebrate.

Now that he is 3, Henry has agreed to ditch his pops and his diapers. I have a feeling he will change his mind and these things won't be easy.

His favorite part of shopping with Grammie was the free balloon he got. In the car he apparently said he loved it and gave the balloon a kiss.

Some more presents to end the day.

He's giving his sticker book a hug because he loves it so much, although he will rip this thing apart very soon.

Birthday doughnuts at the park. I would like to point out Amy walking around in the background. She is, of course, on the phone and far away. Nice parenting. Kristin tells me this is how she always operates. At least, Zoey is eating. Maybe she'll pass that 10 pound mark soon. I think Charlotte may be bigger and she's a Kroner.

A few notes on Hen at age 3:  When playing games, he loves being the bad guy. Hopefully this isn't a bad sign for his future. He loves little things. Seriously, anything little he will love. He calls them his treasures. Tonight he is sleeping with three teeny tiny cars. He loves to stuff them in empty Altoids boxes, or his bug catching house. He has also developed a biting and licking problem. Poor Cole gets bit a lot and poor everyone else for having to watch Henry lick disgusting things.

We got blinds! Finally. FYI - Blinds are the biggest rip off, next to movie theatre popcorn.

Moving still sucks

Well, we are still busy getting settled in and organized in the new house. We are feeling pretty disorganized and just had to spend two nights in Pewaukee at Great Grandma's and Grandpa's house because the new house stunk after getting the ceiling re-stained, which may or may not have turned out too dark. Fingers crossed.

We did manage to hit up a church fest, which was fun. The boys were pretty brave on the rides. Henry did chicken out of the fun house though.

The boys have enjoyed sleeping in the same room. Again, a result of stinky paint and only 1 air purifier.
Not too long ago, Henry declared that he could "eat all day." Another time, after dropping off Cole at a friend's house, Hen said he was too sad to eat. He then wolfed down this muffin...I guess he wasn't that sad.
Insisted on wearing the bday crown to his last day of school. It was not his bday.

Our first wall hanging in the new house.

Cole at a pirate themed bday party.

Arrr, me undies be riding up me crack.
Can't help but show off this nice looking catch.

I hope you didn't get too excited about seeing pics of the boys on the rides at the church fest (I know you didn't, except for Grandma DJ). My phone died, so Kristin was in charge of taking pictures. She took three. Yep, three. And the three she took are horrible. And all three were taken within the first two minutes there. Not one additional photo the entire time. Clearly she does not care about the boys, me or memories.

Cole's been into jokes lately. His first joke:

Knock Knock
Who's there?
Banana puss.

He had another one about how you knock over a sign. Answer: with a bike. I don't really get it.
I guess we will have to look up some good kid jokes as the ones I know are not appropriate.
