Nice little Sunday...

We had a nice little Sunday this weekend. The boys had a sleep over on Saturday, so Kristin and I were able to sleep in a bit. By far the highlight, but some other nice things happened.

By far the biggest...Cole learned how to ride a two-wheeler. He still has some work to do, but he can go solo. He still has trouble getting started on his own, but for his first day of efforts he did really well. We did have an incident though. A "one in a million, doc" type situation. Upon his first big fall he fell back and got a rear peg right in the ass. Luckily the pegs are pretty big, so there was no penetration. It looked painful though and he cried. The worst part was that Kristin told me I should take the pegs off to make it easier. I mocked her as I wasn't sure how the pegs were interfering. I certainly did not see the peg in the ass situation coming. Oh yeah, Kristin cried when I first let go of Cole and he made it a ways on his own.

The video is at the bottom of the blog as well, which might show up bigger. I will let Kristin know to flip her phone next time to avoid the ever annoying vertical video.

We then got some subs and ice cream, which was followed by a successful frog hunt at the EG park. We saw a ton of frogs and even caught one to bring home for the night. Hopefully Henry won't put up a fight to release it today. We didn't really want to bring it home, but he made quite a fuss. Cole managed to net a frog solo, but started to celebrate early and it ended up getting away. Lesson learned.

Looks like he just voted...for Hitler.

They found some slugs as well as frogs. And with making the comment above, I can't help but notice Cole's arm position...Hail Hitler.

Finally, we ended the day with pizza and a movie. Can't go wrong there.

And, because entire days with kids can't actually be all enjoyable, the kids did not want to go to bed and their was arguing, fighting and crying to finish the day off.

Other weekend pics:

We ran up a hill. Who doesn't like doing that? Kristin.

We made it to the top. Man, Cole freezes up for pictures. Me too though.

For the record, this was only the second biggest fish we caught that day.

Happy 4th Everybody

We had quite the busy 4th as I'm sure most did. We had parties, more parties, fireworks, firefly catching, and a parade. Everyone stayed up too late and ate and drank too much. It was fun but tiring. For some reason I also just discovered that I took zero pictures. Oops. Surprisingly Kristin took three. Not surprisingly, none of them really turned out.

Looks like they are all about to take a shit.

Firefly catching and fireworks at Cole's best friend Charlie's house.

Since we apparently love sharing pictures, the recent, unrelated to the 4th, pictures I do have are below.

Somebody thinks he's a fucking riot. Goofball.

Another round of illnesses occurred. We all got it and it lasted forever for Kristin and I.

Cole learned how to cast a spinning reel. It didn't take him long at all. Seems like a natural.

I built another yard game. Beersbee (a.k.a. Polish Horseshoes, Spanish Horseshoes, Frisbeener, French Darts). We are getting quite a collection. I think next will be ladder golf.

We had a Fuchs Family Front Yard Yard Game Olympics (i.e. the FFFYYGO). Cornhole, giant jenga, beersbee and yardzee. Kristin's a poop and didn't play. Something about the house needing to be cleaned or something. I didn't really listen. I won most events.

Cole lost another tooth and I lost another $5. His first upper. Just in time for the two weddings that he will be participating in. We keep putting these teeth in baggies and in his bin in the basement (where we store mementos and crap like that). Do people keep all their kid's teeth? It's starting to seem odd. And later, once I have them all, should I be making some weird mold of his mouth that I can stick his teeth on? That seems like it would be super creepy, but what should be done with all these teeth. I suppose the obvious answer would be to stop collecting them like some horror movie freak show.
