Baby Shades!

The Fuchs Family Florida trip is not until April, but Cole is already starting to get ready. He just got his 400UV baby shades. Left on the list are baby trunks, swim shirt and hat. Hopefully he will be more enthused to model those items. I'm sure he will be very excited to be hanging out poolside in all of his new gear. We are hoping to cover his pale skin as much as possible as I'm sure he burns like me. I will also be wearing all of the same gear, but sorry pictures of that will not be posted.

My 2 Uncles

Many of us have been wondering about Ben and Jason for ages... since they first met in elementary school there has always been something special about their relationship. Now, much like US Weekly or People magazine, we are happy to have the latest news on them. Wouldn't the below photo be perfect for their engagement announcement?? In all seriousness, Jason is still happily dating his girlfriend and Uncle Ben is still looking for the perfect gal (interested parties apply here). Cole had a great time with them when they came to visit last Friday night. We ate pizza, watched the Olympics and took turns entertaining Cole when he was fussy. Jason particularly enjoyed bouncing him on the ball because it meant burning off all those pizza calories.

Cole's Hexagon

Now that Cole is older (13 whole weeks), I decided it was time to start his training. I'm sure Cole will be as tuff (yeah, like the Outsiders) as his father, so mixed martial arts and a career in the UFC seem to fit perfectly. Therefore, like Shaun White who has his own half pipe, Cole now has his own hexagon for his mixed martial arts training. When he is bigger we will upgrade to an octagon just like the pros. We had to sacrifice the dining room, but I am sure it will be well worth it once he gets that big endorsement check from the Condom Depot (one of the bigger sponsors of MMA).
The best part about the hexagon is it is dual purpose; it is also a cage for Grandma Chris. We now just keep her in there at all times so we have a constant babysitter. Funny thing is, my Dad hasn't even called looking for her yet. I figure we will let her out when Cole turns two or three.

Going to Grandma's

Kristin and I took a day off of parenting and let Cole go to Grandma's house for the night. Uncle Ben was kind enough to loan Cole his suitcase. Although Cole had to promise to get it back right away as Ben travels a lot for work.
Cole, Grandma DJ and Gramps had a great night together. Cole got a bath, Uncle Ben came to visit AND Cole slept through the night! Of course this seems to be something he only does when sleeping over at Grandma DJ's house. He is getting close, but it hasn't happened at home yet. I plan to ground him if this continues.

In other news, Cole has been smiling, cooing and growing out of all his clothes rather quickly. He enjoys watching his mobile and does a happy baby dance.

Here you can see him watching his animal friends spin round and round and that he is obviously prepared for the upcoming flood. Looks like he will be as nerdy as his mother.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day from Cole. As seen here, Cole is celebrating in his fancy heart onesie. He claims the ladies love it. His mom can one day try to explain to him why on earth we put him in a bowl. I know I have no idea.

Case of the Mondays

As some may know, I have taken off Mondays thru April to hang out with Cole and to allow Grandma Chris some relief. Here is how my first day went... Our day started off with a great big throw up. While on the changing table, Cole blew up like Old Faithful and puked all over the place. I initially hadn't planned to give him a bath until later, but the puking episode negated my plan. Cole did great in the tub. He didn't cry or make a peep. I now believe it was because he knew how pointless that bath was going to be, and the joke was on me. What seemed like minutes out of the tub, in his nice new outfit, Cole puked again. Not as bad as the first, but enough to require a change. Luckily, the "poop on the onesie" incident happened before I had a chance to change him. That saved an outfit. I will spare you the details. As I undertook putting on another outfit for the day, I realized just how much having a baby must be like playing with dolls. Cole typically goes through a couple outfits during the day and then a couple sets of pajamas throughout the night. I try to have Cole do some stuff (e.g. play with a ball, hold a fake weapon, etc.), so he is more like an action figure than a doll. It makes things a little more manly for me. With that said, I did enjoy putting his second outfit together (see picture below). I even put some little shoes on him. (He tied them himself, not bad for a ginger baby.)

Anyway, the day went pretty well overall. I went through three shirts myself, but Cole is alive and well.
