Long time, no post

I think my days of photographing almost everything the kids do is coming to a close. I guess I'm already losing interest in the little guys. The kids just don't do much now that surprises me, and their little antics have certainly become more tiresome than opportunities to take pictures. I'll have try to get the boys to update their tricks.

Some recent news:  We think Henry has a girl that likes him, so good for him. The girl next to Henry below apparently likes hanging out with him and made a point to sit nice and close. Same thing usually happens to me...like father, like son.

Other news:  Cole's bedtime routine is ridiculous. The boys often get out of bed. For awhile we were locking their doors, which I'm sure is a Fire Code no no. Cole will come up with all kinds of excuses and becomes a huge Chatty Cathy. The video below was edited down from almost 10 minutes to 2 minutes (full version is under weekly videos) and I started taping him after he was already talking to me for about 15 minutes. I primarily ignored him, but he just kept going on and on with his so-called "announcements" as he was calling them. I'm not sure what he thinks of me if he believes I need to be given all of these instructions.

He gave Kristin some announcements last night and the highlights included; "if you break something super tall you should use lots of glue, only Dads can change lightbulbs, if you feel dizzy or have to poop you should tell your Mom."  He also told her that he was giving her "Five-teen announcements before he got tired and could go to bed." On the plus side, the teaching alarm clock that Santa brought Henry seems to be working; he is going to bed at 7pm and usually doesn't get up before 7am, so thank goodness for no more 5am wakeups!

Happy 2014

Happy New Years. I did not make it to midnight. So embarrassing. I don't even know who I am anymore. The kids had a good new years eve party though. We went to the Schilz's and faked a ball drop (that sounds weird) around 7:00 p.m. We had balloons, hats and poppers. Pretty exciting stuff.

Look at Kristin parent. She should really find someone to help her out with these kids...but who?

Sorry Amy and Dustin. I think Henry spit on your floor. He looks like a fat gangster with that chain around his neck.

On a separate note, I have new nicknames for the boys. They make a lot of sense, especially at times they are playing together. Cole is now called "China Shop" and Henry is "Bull." Henry breaks a lot of things. Cole will be playing nicely and Henry will tackle and jump on him. I just hope Bull never actually breaks China Shop.

The latest item Henry broke was his big piggy bank; although, I thought it was a bit girly so I'm kinda happy. I plan to buy the boys Brewers and Packers ones like below. As we were cleaning up his money, I asked Henry what he was going to buy with it. He told me that he was going to buy more money with his money. I guess he wants to get into foreign currency trading or something as a career.

Two other recent kid things I've taken note of: Henry's diaper band is often full of crumbs, which is pretty gross and kids go crazy when they're naked. I'm not sure why. I guess they just feel free. I took notice when Henry spent a significant amount of time spinning around and swinging his jammies while being nude.

On a sad note, Kristin's Grandma, GG (Great Grandma,to the boys), passed away on Sunday. We will all miss GG. We are very happy the boys were able to meet and visit with her a lot these past several years. She was a very kind and generous lady and was really like having a 3rd grandma for me. I remember meeting GG and Boppa at the Iron Skillet years ago and she told me to give her a hug because I was part of the family (knowing that I don't like hugs). Like I said, she was very nice and will be missed.

GG and baby Cole

Hanging with Henry. (I'll miss those shirts!)
