Florida

We had another fun trip to Cape Coral, Florida in March. We had fun at the house swimming and just chilling, we made it to Cape Coral Beach and Fort Myers Beach, drove to the Everglades (Henry finally made it to a National Park), and Kristin and I went to Naples for a wedding. We'll leave those stories out of the blog, but I know I had fun.

And now, everyone's favorite...other people's vacation pictures. I'm sure I've mentioned this many times before, but I did go to a party and had to look at someone's vacation pictures and then listen to them rate movies from their DVD collection. Yikes.

Mask wearing went well. We were a little worried about Gus and Lou, but they did great and no one on the plane nitpicked.

Fishing was not great. I think Henry was the only one who caught something. Total bummer.

Grandpa Gregg showed the boys how to open a coconut

I'm a little mad I missed this below pic. Kristin and I left to go to Naples for a wedding. Right after we left the boys were fishing off the dock in the canal and they actually caught this Jack Crevalle (we think). I was told the boys did great and took turns reeling it in.

The Fort Myers Beach day was a highlight. All of the boys really loved just hanging out on the beach.

Another fun excursion was driving to the Everglades. We went on an air boat ride, where we did see a couple of alligators hanging out. The place we went to also had some there. Cole held a little baby gator. This also started the tooth necklace wearing. It started with an alligator tooth and now Cole and Henry also both have a shark tooth. Some of these fashion trends aren't easy to deal with.

March 2021

Here's a little photo dump before our March Florida trip post.

There was the bike buying day though, which was more difficult than I ever could have imagined. Another thanks to COVID. We went to several stores. None had bikes in stock that fit the boys. Finally, Henry found the one he wanted, in the color he wanted and in his size. A miracle. He was so happy.

While buying Henry's bike, I could tell Cole was trying to be happy for him, but he was so disappointed that he couldn't find a bike. He had been wanting and in need of one for a long time and was so pumped to go shopping. I felt pretty crushed seeing him start to tear up.

So we expanded our search and Kristin started calling bike stores all over the place. Finally, the Trek store in Sheboygan had one orange bike in his size in stock. The store was closing at about the exact time Google Maps said we'd get there, so we quick hopped in the car and drove to Sheboygan. Thankfully we made it in time and they didn't sell it out from under us. We were only a little late to our dinner plans with the Kroners too. So that's our bike story and Cole was a very happy boy.

Before - braces

After - no braces

Now he has a retainer that falls out every single night and is impossible to find. It's super annoying.

Ice rink was fun for all and pretty well used. We are even looking at a possible expansion for this winter.

This was an unsuccessful attempt at potty training. Spoiler alert:  It does happen this year, although maybe the level of success is yet to be determined. I literally just got a text today (9/9/21) that Lou pooped his pants at preschool.

Don't worry. They have their Whittling Chits.
