Big Brother Day

This Saturday was the first ever celebrated Big Brother Day. I don't know exactly when, I think it was during a family walk earlier this summer, but we decided to start an annual Big Brother Day and Little Brother Day. This past Saturday was Big Brother Day (next Saturday will be Little Brother Day). Basically the boys decided they should have a day that they can call all the shots and pick out some fun activities, and for whatever reason, we agreed. We forgot about this, so we didn't really have anything planned for Saturday, but luckily we had some Lego Mixels around so we gave them each a pack of those to start the celebration. We also played some Mario Kart and Mario Tennis, which Cole loves to do, and went to see the new Minions movie. And we ate cheeseburgers - Cole's ultimate favorite.

On Sunday, Steve came in from Chicago and we took the kids to the Brewers game. The boys have gone to several games, but this was their first tailgating experience. It went very well and the kids had a lot of fun running around the parking lot. Before leaving, Kristin put temporary tattoos on the boys with our phone numbers on them. I have not seen these used when Kristin is taking the boys somewhere, so I was a bit offended. They are actually a really good idea though. We'll have to remember to give these to the boys when they go off to college.

Kristin thought we were biting off more than we could chew with the tailgating, but as usual she was wrong. It was actually nice. Not once did Steve over react to a situation, scream, panic and almost give me a heart attack.

Instead of losing a kid, we actually almost came home with an extra. Nathan, a 3-year old boy (who was a good deal bigger than Henry) ended up climbing up from the seats in front of us to hang out. He really became part of the group, even joining in trying to choke me like Cole and Henry do. I all of a sudden noticed there were some bigger arms around my neck and, sure enough, it was Nathan. We were in the bleachers and luckily it wasn't crowded. The kids were climbing all over the place. I'm sure everyone hated us. I think I managed to see about three plays of the game.

There was a lot of this going on.

After putting the boys to bed last night Henry came out of his room, which is not unusual as he often "can't sleep." I was about to be mad at him for getting out of bed, but he had me cracking up because I just was not expecting to see him with his head lamp on and a book. Idk, probably had to be there.

Of late...

Of late...The spoiled Fuchs children got themselves a big swing set. Luckily, all it costs us was a 1.75 liter bottle of Captain Morgan. Not bad.

They have on their matching 4th of July outfits. If you were wondering.

I made a big Jenga set. Easy, but much more of a pain than I thought. It is just a lot of pieces to cut...54! Cole actually beat me, so now he thinks he is the Jenga master.

I ditched out for most of the weekend to go fishing. Jer and I did not do well in the bass tourney, but it was fun.

Almost instantly upon arriving home from up north, I grabbed the boys and took them to Indy Fest. The cars were too loud for them though, so we didn't stay long.

And good news, Kim accepted Ben's proposal, so the boys will be getting a new aunt. Or as Henry put it, "Kim is going to be our Uncle." Congrats Ben and Kim.
