Complaint Box

So this was probably another bad idea by me, but I thought the boys could have a complaint or suggestion box. I'm hoping that they just make a note and put it in there instead of whining and crying to me. I'm sure it won't work.

So far we have received the following complaints/comments...

From Henry:  "I hate the burritos." He is referring to the breakfast burritos we served him at breakfast. Not a fan. I am a fan, however, of how he spelled burritos.

From Cole:  "I don't like it when you give me that [?] smoothie." So Hen doesn't like burritos and Cole doesn't like smoothies. Noted.

From Cole:  "Dad when can we do the fumble drill?" Finally, a good suggestion. Soon Cole, soon.

note continued below

From Cole:  "Dad, I want to start spelling words when breakfast is ready. Cole" We work on spelling in the morning, and sorry Cole. Seeing how you spelled a bunch of shit wrong in this note, we will be starting spelling lessons even earlier now.

Twinsies

They're here. As most of you know we have been expecting twins. Although we didn't find out the gender, we knew they would be boys and sure enough...2 identical twin boys, so we welcome into this world:

Gus Francis Fuchs
(formerly known as Baby A)
Nicknames (thus far):  "Grumpy Gus," "Gus the Gray"
Arrived on October 20, 2017 at 11:43 a.m.
Weighing in at 5 lbs. 13.6 oz.
19 inches in length

Louis Robert Fuchs
(formerly known as Baby B)
Nicknames thus far:  "Louie skinny face" (sounds like mobster)
Arrived on October 20, 2017 at 11:48 a.m.
Weighing in at 5 lbs. 5.6 oz.
19 inches in length

Lets go back to the beginning. How did this all begin? Nicholas John Fuchs was born October...just kidding, we won't go back that far. This mostly "weekend update" blog probably wouldn't make for a great novel.

I was actually thinking it was time to maybe shut down this blog as posts have become few and far between and usually just consist of weekend pictures. However, with the birth of the twins, I feel like they deserve equal treatment and inclusion in some blog books, so I guess we'll keep this going for awhile.

We informed the boys of the twins by wrapping up some diapers and giving them as a gift (obviously Kristin's idea). They unwrapped them and were a bit confused, but figured it out. Cole's first comment learning that his mother was pregnant, "Mom, you can't drink soda anymore." Yep.

Confused

Starting to figure it out

Prior to delivery we decided to go out to eat one last time as a family of four (can't exactly eat out as a family of 6 on a government paycheck).

You get to play with dough at Bravo. And they did.

As noted, the twins were born on Friday, October 20th. We were scheduled to go into the hospital on Thursday morning. After waking up to our alarms at 5:00 a.m. we ended up getting a call and being pushed back, so we didn't get to the hospital until 2:00 p.m. As Kristin apparently loves long labors, the twins didn't arrive until Friday around noon. As I learned from Cole's delivery where I did not sleep much, I accepted a cot from the nurses and got a good night sleep.

The delivery went well. I mean, it looked brutally painful and all, but the babies came out in good shape. Gus popped up head first, but Louie took a turn and kicked his way through feet first. It was quite a sight to suddenly see a foot pop out of there. Yikes.

We spent two more nights in the hospital and then got to come home. The first night at home was pretty rough with the boys waking up every hour to eat until we finally were able to sleep from about 3:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. The second night at home was a miracle though. The boys slept through the night, leaving me enough energy in the morning to type up this blog. I'm sure it was a fluke, but I remain hopeful.

I should note that Cole and Henry have been great big brothers. They were super excited and have been very helpful thus far. Hopefully that continues. Although, I think they are still looking forward to the basement being finished, so they have their own place to go and play (and be wild). The living room is now filled with baby shit (and babies).

And now for the pictures.

i obviously kept this outfit

I've been experimenting with putting an "A" or "B" or "G" or "L" on pictures to identify who's who. I imagine looking back at pictures it may be hard to tell.

I told Cole and Henry to calm down and relax and give me a good pic. They didn't.
