Wild Weekend

This weekend was quite busy for us - Uncle Ben was home for a visit to play in a hockey tournament and to see Cole. We kept Cole up past his bedtime on Thursday so we could go surprise Ben at the airport. Somehow lines were crossed (we are blaming Grandma Debbie or Ben) and Ben's plane landed a good 45 minutes later than expected. Luckily Cole was in a good mood and was happy to wander the airport, making friends. It helped that Grandpa Gregg was there - he also loves to wander around, talking to strangers and making new friends. Nick and I were happy to blend into the background...

Footie jammies and tennis shoes - super stylin' at the airport

He thought the automated walkway was pretty cool

His first bunch of age-appropriate airport friends. He left his other buddies in the bar.

Uncle Ben was VERY happy to see Cole - Cole immediately demonstrated some of his new walking/running skills and was equally as happy to see Ben

On Saturday we went to watch Ben's hockey game. Cole actually sat for about 15 minutes and watched the action. After the game my parent's hosted an early dinner for the "team" and some other people who wanted to see Ben while he was home. Cole had a blast with everyone. When it was time to go he waved and gave hugs and said, "Bye!" to all his new friends.
Watching the Stanley Cup playoffs and eating a banana with the big kids

We also squeezed in a trip to Chicago on Sunday to meet some new baby friends; Maelin Hood and Charlie Hamilton. Saturday and Sunday we also visited a few furniture stores looking for a rocking-recliner for Boy #2's room. Cole thought this car stroller was pretty awesome.

Sunday night Ben stopped by for a quick visit full of hugs and kisses for Cole before he headed back to Philly. Then we all went to bed early, it was quite a packed weekend.
