Old Henry

Before we get to Henry's birthday, we have some pictures from the SJV Fest. The kids had fun, but we made the mistake of actually trying to hang out and visit friends (so selfish of us), which meant the kids got impatient, clingy and whiny. Not enjoyable.

This was obviously not their favorite; although, I think they are having more fun than the kid behind them.

They really loved the super slide.

Henry's now 4. We had some family and friends over to celebrate. We got Henry most of the snacks he wanted, we had a silly string battle, a pinata, and Henry got presents so he was a happy boy. Kristin had the bright idea of making a maze in the driveway. Luckily it really didn't take me that long.

Everyone figured out the maze and was able to make their way to the party. Except for Grandma Dorothy. She pushed her walker right over the imaginary walls.

My favorite part of the party was definitely the silly string battle. Lots of fun.

Doughnut cake as requested.

Finally the pinata just fell and the kids just ripped it apart.

I threw it to spread the candy around and make the kids (and Grandpa) expend a little effort for the candy.

I don't think any of the mothers appreciated my sparkler purchase for the party.

All in all the party was a success. I still can't believe the cost and how quick things add up. Even a little party at home is a lot of work. I think we will start looking at outside establishments for birthday parties.

We also took the kids to an art class at the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center. It was free and killed an hour of the day, so totally worth it. The kids got to make several instruments.

The weekend did not stop after making some art. We also went to Mayfair with the cousins to check out the Lego tour thingy. Some of the Lego monuments were very impressive.

And we played in the basement. Well, I cleaned and the boys played (and painted).
