We've started some improvements to the house. We've had good luck with a couple contractors, but otherwise, these people suck. They are horrible to work with, don't communicate, and don't do everything they're suppose to. It was a struggle to even get quotes and call backs. I could go on and on about contractors, but I'm sure we've all been there before.
Anyway, let's start with what the house looked like in 1954-55. Sadly, we can't make it look this nice and new again.
Here are some before pics. This includes the old roof, paint colors that were considered, and the start of the new eaves and gutters.
And here is what we have now...

We still have some landscaping to do. The driveway and garage floor will be replaced soon and the patio expanded. It's a work in progress, but it's getting there. I'm just so happy to not live in a salmon orange colored house anymore.
We also had a couple other improvements. First, those chairs the boys built and have been bothering Kristin since day 1 have been destroyed. I think they had more fun destroying than building.
Second, we got a trampoline installed.
I was hopeful the fence and zipper would hold the twins in there, but it doesn't. They sneak out and come and go as they please. Just not the cage I wanted it to be. |
