First Fuchs Family Up North Vacation

The first Fuchs up north vacation is hopefully not the last. The boys had so much fun. I'm already looking for places next year. We went to Three Lakes, WI, near Eagle River. The only disappointing part was the fishing. We only went out once, but it was hard to find a good spot and only Jeremy caught anything, so we didn't even try again. Not to mention, all I do is untangle knots, change out rigs and lose lures (thanks to the kiddos). The last few days were also not great weather.

Otherwise, boating, swimming, tubing, sparklers, campfire, s'mores and all the north woods fun you'd expect. We also caught some frogs and a snake, which was cool. And I brought up some change, so all the kids could play poker. Guts was a real hit and the boys quickly spent their winnings in town on junk. I mean on tiny wooden boxes and fidget spinners.

I probably shouldn't forget to mention that the Fuchs brothers beat the in-laws (a.k.a. outlaws, a.k.a. Paul and Dan) in a series of yard games consisting of beersbee, Kan Jam and cornhole. Some close games, but the good guys prevailed. It didn't come without sacrifice though as I fell on my wallet and keys and got a huge bruise. I'll post the pic, but feel I do have to apologize for how ugly my upper man thigh is...not my best feature.

Keeping a bunch of kids behaving and having 10 adults in one house isn't always easy, but knowing how much fun the boys had certainly makes it worth it. Warning:  Family vacation photos below.

All those people make a lot of garbage

Some recent happenings...

Henry got a gift card to Dick's for his birthday and I think he spent it wisely. Kristin did not feel the same and did not look very pleased when we got home.

The house is very well protected.

Well, I guess not that well. We had one get away.

Prior to leaving for up north, we did some prep work. We practiced casting, went to Cabelas for supplies and dreamt about having a fishing boat of our own.

Normal Grandpa recently took us to his sportsman club picnic. It was on a guy's property with his own pond full of bass. Pretty cool. Cole caught five and Henry pulled in at least a couple.

I told the boys they could put whatever they wanted in their scrambled eggs. I was thinking along the lines of peppers, ham, bacon, etc. They instantly went with candy. Skittles, beer flavored Jelly Bellies and some other jelly bean. They were, not surprisingly, very gross. Henry tried to eat them, but just couldn't.

I went fishing and when I finally go without the boys and don't spend all my time untangling knots, this can happen. No offence kiddos. I do have to thank Henry because I am showing off the success of his Whopper Plopper here. He handpicked this lure.

I came upstairs and I'm not sure what was going on here. I didn't bother to ask.

Twin pics!

The ever so often random phone pic dump (#memories)

I think the title of this post says it all...

At what age do these pics become inappropriate?

First fight...of many

Gus

Gus and Lou, respectively.

If you still can't tell, Louie is on the left and Gus is on the right...wait, I mean...just kidding, that's right. I think.

I really love the buzz cuts.

Half of our tree fell down.
