The Big 3

Cole turned 3. Hard to believe we have been at this kid stuff for three years already, but I'll skip the reflection and just tell you about the party.

We started the morning off by surprising Cole with a bunch of balloons in his crib. He was thrilled, seriously we could have stopped celebrating then and there and he would have been fine. Kids love balloons.

At school he made a special birthday hat and shared his favorite treat (blueberry muffins) with his friends.

We kept his party pretty simple and had the family over for pizza and cake. Decorations were limited but we did go with a car theme this year, which of course led to a little cake decorating. Making a cake in the shape of a car seemed a little beyond our skills, so we just made a road in the shape of a 3 out of crushed Oreos.

This is where we ran out of green frosting, so we couldn't finish the cake.

Not happy to see that his "crib balloons" had been turned into garland for the party

Party injury - looking up chasing a balloon instead of watching his feet

Another favorite gift - kid sized cleaning tools

Cole received a lot of great gifts but one in particular made me jealous. Grammie Debbie got Cole a Kindle Fire. So Kristin has a Nook and an ipod, Cole has a Kindle and I have nothing. Seriously, not even my own ipod. I feel ripped off. Hopefully he will share with me.

Much less interesting but Kristin also had a birthday. She turned 33. I can't believe I'm married to a 33 year old. Crazy.
