Super Bowl LIV

We had a low key Super Bowl party. Just us, and Henry missed some due to a 5-7pm basketball practice. We made some prop bets, which kept things exciting. Kristin also picked up some ice cream from Culver's, so that was a nice treat.

We started the game late and the boys had to go to bed in the 4th quarter, but I think they were happy to wake up to find their winnings. Henry won the most bets, so he got a bonus buck and orange tic tacs.

Cole was doing some pretty cool jumps and moves over the baby slide. 

More Autographs

While in line at Brewers on Deck we made some friends that turned me on to the app Crave the Auto. When I checked it out I saw that the Lopez brothers were signing at Waukesha Sports Cards. I didn't really think we would end up going, but we happened to have time that day, so we made a last minute decision to check it out. I was also hoping that we could get a pic of the twins being help by them, but that didn't pan out.

We again didn't get our own stuff to have signed and the basketballs at the store were real expensive, so we opted for the 8x10 photo. This line wasn't too bad and we only waited about an hour or so.

Go Bucks.

I may have to take one of these for my office. 

Brewers on Deck

The boys and I went to Brewers on Deck this year. It was quite an experience. We arrived two hours early. After briefly sitting in the wrong line to get in we switched and hopped in another line, only to find out that this was not the correct line either. These lines were fairly short, so it makes sense they weren't right. One was for a breakfast with the Brewers and the other was for season ticket holders.

Finally, we found the very long line for all us regular ticket holders. It wrapped around the entrance and a block or two up Wisconsin Avenue. It was long. It was also freezing out and we didn't bring jackets, hats, or gloves. As we expected, lines would be a theme of the day, but the cold made this a rough start. 

We finally made it in the building, where we weaved through a few conference rooms and made our way upstairs...where we waited until 10:00 a.m. when the doors to the main room would open. Once they did it was a mad rush. People were sprinting over to players. We made the call to not go for Yelich and went in the Lorenzo Cain line. Each player signs 250 autograph and we were about 30th in line, so we were happy this was a lock. Sadly he didn't sign until 11:00 a.m., so more waiting. I'd guess it was about 12:15 p.m. when we finally got our first signature. Yep, that's after 4 hours of waiting. 

We then opted for the shortest line we could find, which was Alex Claudio. Not bad. 

Otherwise, there was a free kid area with short lines. We got Gorman Thomas, Don August, Paul Wagner, Manny Pena, and a few others that I can't remember (because I don't even know who they were to begin with).

We learned a lot of lessons if we ever want to do it again. The biggest being bring more stuff to have signed. The "photo cards" as they call them are just jersey shaped cutouts and really aren't that cool and are definitely not photos as I thought they would be.

At least they got some reading done. Each finished two books while stuck in lines.
